Tracks Details
Tracks is a web-based application to help you implement David Allen’s Getting Things Done™ methodology. It was built using Ruby on Rails, and comes with a built-in webserver (WEBrick), so that you can run it on your own computer if you like. It can be run on any platform on which Ruby can be installed, including Mac OS X, Windows XP and Linux. Tracks is Open Source, free and licensed under the GNU GPL.

What’s new:
* The included Rails version is updated to 2.0.2
* You can now search the contents of todos, projects and notes (thanks, Jeffrey Gipson!)
* Improvements to the mobile view, including a few iPhone specific improvements for those of you lucky enough to have an iPhone
* A few bug fixes
An important caveat is that OpenID support is broken in 1.6. The fix is a bit complicated because of changes to the ruby-openid gem, so we wanted to get 1.6 out before fixing it. If you depend on OpenID support, we’d advise waiting until the next release.
There are no hosted versions currently associated with this application.

Pros: Awesome implementation of GTD. Beautiful app.
Cons: Can be slow as molasses on older machines. Make sure to run in production mode (I'm using ebb_rails) and have a decent machine.

I just converted from Emacs planner to Tracks and it's pretty good. Having my todo list on the web is great for me but it can run slow with a lot of tasks (I have 300 on the frontpage).

Tracks 1.7 is almost out. A preview version 1.7RC2 is currenty available if you like to see what will be the next version of Tracks
